As a curious and hardworking student of survival in difficult situations, Franca never presented his artwork in public.The production of DIVINE MOTHER took place in a basement in Queens, where I got the first space with a wide wall to stretch the canvas of the DIVINE MOTHER. in 2001, New York was in a turmoil, the twin towers (WTC) had just fallen.

Franca began to create these versions to strengthen the union of peoples at this very difficult time.

I used the only colors I had to paint at that moment. It was a process that I completed quickly.

While they may seem spontaneous and immediate, they are actually the product of a labor-intensive process that Franca makes seem effortless.
